And I thought Murray was a train wreck for bidding against himself on Kesler and Juice extensions ... not the mention the Shea Theodore disaster...

This is right there though.

I would have added signing Sullivan to an extension with two years left on his contract.

Hextall has been a part of destroying not jusy one, but two, Pennsylvania hockey teams in his recent tenure.

Who will be hired first? Chuck feltcher or hextall?

He was so bad that it really does make you wonder if it was some kind of deliberate sabotage.

Let’s just use this useless blog to appreciate the Jussi Jokinen acquisition.

Jussi was solid for his salary. Enjoyed his time as a pen.

Hex really only has 1 star for rakell. Rest is trash.

Watching the playoffs. Pens couldn’t hang with any of these teams.

Feel like Dubas could still hit the market if the Leafs get swept

Absolutely. This was after how many 1st round playoff failures? Up to one full year left? Ok. Two years left? Ridiculous. Hockey coaches have a notoriously short shelf life. Apparently Hex didn't get the memo.

I would have also added that 37-year-old Carter was given his two year(!), buyout-proof, NMC, relatively steep AAV contract in JANUARY! Just let the season play out. Players his age notoriously fall off cliffs but apparently Hex didn't get the memo about that, either.

FSG absolutely deserves some blame in all of this mess. Hex has been a slow-moving trainwreck for a while. Who the hell knows what Burke was doing. If FSG hadn't waited for a fan revolt to finally act, it could have spared us the absurd Granlund trade.

It's mind-boggling that both Hextall and Fletcher were allowed to stay on as GMs for the past TDL if they were so close to being on their way out. And they both botched the TDL in their own special, unique ways

I don’t want a retread for GM but I think Dubas would be great in a president of hockey ops role with his agent background.

I kinda get the thought process of not wanting someone totally fresh and unfamiliar with the team navigating a TDL with so little time to prepare but even still you have to neuter the power to an extent and veto obvious gaffes like Granlund. Hex shouldn’t have had the authority to pull the trigger on a 5 mil multi year contract in the hot seat.

Lots of the negativity here is in insight. Petry trade isn’t a bad move. Every week you cried about wanting Matheson gone.

Trading 28 year old Matheson for a 34 year old Petry isn't a good trade no matter how you slice it.

Matheson put up more points in like 13 less games than Petry.
